Robert Bennett, Clinical Pharmacist

Robert Bennett, PharmD is the clinical pharmacist of the Primary Care IPA. He brings clinical knowledge of medication management specifically as it applies to the primary care setting.

He has a passion for educating patients and providers about the existing and upcoming evidence surrounding medications therapies. He specializes in assisting patients with type 1 and 2 diabetes, hyperlipidemia, and hypertension – however, his knowledge base spans to include conditions including mental health, anticoagulation, heart failure, and deprescribing.

He serves as an adjunct faculty at the University at Buffalo School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences where he coordinates a course intended to educate future pharmacy leaders about the opportunities in primary care. He also provides experiential education to several students per year, including those in the course and some who are not.

Prior to his work with the Primary Care IPA, he completed his PGY 1 residency training at the Lebanon VA Medical Center and his PGY 2 residency training at Buffalo Medical Group, PC. At these sites he was successful at developing patient/provider relationships to assist patients in the development and achievement of their specific care goals.
