Paul Stage, Clinical Pharmacist

Paul Stage II, PharmD joined Primary Care IPA as a full-time clinical pharmacist in 2023 after working with the team as an intern for 3 years.

He is excited to provide expanded clinical coverage to more IPA offices and to initiate innovative medication-related clinics that have been requested by our membership.

Paul brings an extensive set of skills and experiences to the team. A native of Chautauqua County, he spent ten years in a professional career managing projects, leading teams, and developing nationally recognized programs. His doctoral education at the University at Buffalo included award-winning training in pharmacology and professionalism. He gained extensive experience in managing medications for diabetes, cardiovascular conditions, COPD, and geriatric care. His education extends well beyond these conditions, however, and includes neurological conditions, osteoporosis, infectious disease, OTC self care, and a host of other medication-managed conditions. He maintains a relationship with the University at Buffalo School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences as an adjunct faculty member and experiential education preceptor.

Paul is most interested in supporting the Quadruple Aim as it aligns with Primary Care IPA’s mission: to improve individual patient care, to implement good population health practices, to see that healthcare spending is used and distributed effectively, and to improve provider job satisfaction through the services he offers. He manifests this most commonly through direct wrap-around care for patients with Type-1 and -2 Diabetes, respiratory inhaler education for patients and staff members, and the creation of Best Practice Workflows to share across Primary Care IPA.
